A look behind the scenes of our production site

Besides Tiny Houses, Forum also manufactures exhibition stands and furniture in the beautiful Twistetal in northern Hesse

Transparency is an important component of our company philosophy in order to build a trusting and good relationship with our customers. That's why we're taking you with us and introducing you to the family business Forum Laden- und Messebau and the people behind it. Sports and documentary photographer Klaus Fengler accompanied us and captured impressions of our local production partner.

The tranquil municipality of Twistetal is located in northern Hesse, about 50 kilometers west of Kassel and is part of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district. It is nestled between the towns of Korbach and Bad Arolsen, surrounded by wooded hills and several reservoirs and bathing lakes. The nearby Kellerwald-Edersee National Park offers unique nature and hiking experiences.

Adjacent to the Alte Kornhaus in Twiste are the office and workshop of Friedrich Knipp, the owner of Forum Laden- und Messebau. Friedrich and his wife Michaela are the parents of our architect Luca.

In addition to our Tiny Houses, Forum has been manufacturing innovative trade fair stands and property furnishings for over 30 years. The one-off production of furniture and the production of practical plug-in furniture are also part of the services. Forum currently has six employees from the area and is still looking for other carpenters who are interested in making tiny houses and furniture.

Our architect Luca and his two brothers, Marius and David, grew up in Twiste. There you gained experience in dealing with the natural and versatile material wood in your parents' business at a young age. Influenced by this, Luca studied architecture in Munich, Marius completed a design degree in Schwäbisch Gmünd and David chose the practical path as a carpenter in the family business.

The two master carpenters Danny and Christopher take care of the day-to-day business at Forum, journeyman carpenter David is the site manager of the tiny houses. Friedrich dedicates himself to planning exhibition stands and looking after his customers. He also accompanies the production of the Tiny Houses. His wife Michaela is responsible for office management. As the responsible construction manager at the trade fair locations, José is often on the road, both nationally and internationally.

All employees have been with Forum for many years, because just like us, Michaela and Friedrich appreciate trusting and long-term cooperation with employees and customers.

We three vagabundos - Luca, Michi and Andi - live in Munich, from where we work remotely and plan our tiny houses. Regular visits to the Twistetal site are of course indispensable. The ICE train connection with a change to the regional train makes it possible to arrive in a manageable time, in a climate-friendly manner and so far almost always on time.

The close cooperation and coordination with Forum as a competent partner is very important for us as a startup. In addition, it is really more than an ordinary business relationship: you know each other, use the first name and laugh together.

Michaela and Friedrich have many years of experience with B2B and B2C customers, the three vagabundos bring a breath of fresh air and new ideas.

All in all, we are really happy to have won Forum as a manufacturing partner for our vagabundo Tiny Houses. Everyone benefits from this trusting cooperation, but ultimately it is the customers who benefit the most. You get a sustainable, high-quality and durable product.
